Reorder 40 kg Ethiopia Yirgacheffe — $1,240 from Highland Importers

Cover drops below 7 days on Oct 4. Lead time is 6 days, so ordering today keeps both cafés stocked without an emergency top-up.

Approval needed · Cash collection
3 invoices overdue ($8,420, oldest 21 days)

Draft polite chase emails? I will personalize each one with the invoice number, amount, and a friendly nudge — nothing sends without your review.

Insight · Margin
Oat milk cost +18% MoM — margin impact ≈ $310/mo

Consider a 25¢ nudge on oat-milk drinks? At current volume that more than offsets the increase while keeping the price gap to dairy small.

Product plan — Meridian for SMEs

Muse-style personal agent + Palantir-style ontology, sized for a 10–100 person business. The prototype above uses fictional Ember & Oak data to show the loop in action.

Owner-operators & small leadership teams
Cafés, clinics, trades, e-commerce, agencies
One morning brief, clear approvals
No dashboard archaeology
Agent drafts, human approves
Nothing sends or spends silently
Your systems stay source of truth
Read-mostly connectors at MVP

How the pieces fit

1 · Ontology (the Palantir layer)

A lightweight business graph: Customers, Orders, Products, Suppliers, Invoices, Employees, Locations, and Cash Accounts — linked the way the business actually runs. Entities carry owners, freshness timestamps, and risk flags (for example, “Single source for Yirgacheffe”). The agent reasons over this graph instead of raw tables, so “what breaks if this supplier slips?” is a graph question, not a spreadsheet hunt.

2 · Agent (the Muse layer)

A named assistant that knows the owner, the business, and what changed overnight. It writes the Morning Brief, drafts emails and POs, watches thresholds, and asks in plain language. Every consequential action arrives as an approval card with the why, the cost, and the undo path.

3 · Operations surface

KPIs, trends, sales mix, and anomalies — pre-filtered to what moved. No vanity charts: each visual answers “is this normal, and should I act?”

Phased roadmap

Phase 0
Concierge MVP (weeks 1–4)
Read-only connectors (accounting, POS, bank feed, inbox), ontology v1, Morning Brief, approval cards, decision log. Human-in-the-loop for every draft. Success: owner opens the brief 5+ mornings a week.
Phase 1
Act with guardrails (weeks 5–10)
One-click approved actions (PO creation, email send), anomaly rules per industry pack, “Ask about this” from any entity, mobile approvals. Success: median approval time under 2 minutes.
Phase 2
Playbooks & team (months 3–5)
Churn win-back, reorder, and staffing playbooks; multi-user roles; supplier risk scoring; scenario toggles (“what if oat milk rises another 10%?”). Success: at least 2 playbooks running per business.
Phase 3
Marketplace & benchmarks (month 6+)
Opt-in anonymized benchmarks (“cafés your size pay X for oat milk”), connector marketplace, and API for accountants/bookkeepers. Success: benchmark insight cited in a pricing or supplier decision.
Integrations (MVP order)

Success criteria & risks

North star: hours of owner admin saved per week, measured by approvals completed and briefs acted on — not logins.

Watch-outs: connector data quality (mitigate with freshness labels), alert fatigue (severity budgets + snooze learning), single-source risks surfaced early, and clear “demo vs live” labelling so owners never mistake sample data for their own.

Pricing sketch: per-location subscription with a solo-owner tier; accountants get a free partner seat because they champion retention.
